THE WHEELHOUSE INN

We offer comfortable rooms in a Historic building in Pine Hill.

The Wheelhouse, as we call it now, is a Colonial/Victorian building that has been in operation since 1865, Originally known as Ma's Boarding House, and continuing on in several incarnations, the building has seen its share of visitors in its history,

Most recently it belonged to the hotel next door and in taking ownership we discovered a wagon wheel in the basement. Following some research at the Town of Shandaken Museum here in Pine Hill we discovered the building had been used at one time to repair and refurbish wheels from horse and buggies that frequented the area in the 1880's until the 1920's. That's where we came up with the name.

We are located in the Heart of the Catskill Park with public access available to near 80% of the wilderness terrain surrounding Pine Hill. We are walking distance to the Pine Lake, restaurants, and great trails for hiking. Guests are welcome to leave their rooms and stroll the grounds of our property to enjoy the great outdoors:

As snowsport enthusiasts we can direct you to the terrain you seek, be it Skiing, Riding, Tubing, Snow Shoeing or Cross Country Skiing we have it all close by. We are located directly at the base of Belleayre Mountain Ski Center, within 10 minutes to Phoenicia and 25 minutes to Hunter Mountain and Woodstock.
